Maverick: Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby.
Air Boss Johnson: That’s a negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.
Well apparently we had an unknown flyby that occurred this morning. I’m still trying to find out if someone was able to identify ‘what’ it was. Astronomers say it may be space junk or it could be a tiny asteroid, too small to cause damage even if it hit. It’s 33 to 50 feet wide at most.
I wonder how often things like this happen to the earth. We’re just spinning right along, and out of no where comes some unexpected (at least to us) object that engages our sight.
It is nice to know that there are people who are looking out for the junk that could impact us. In a strange way, it reminds me of accountability. Often we are going about our own business unaware of the junk that is zeroing in on our lives. More times than not, this junk is apparent to those around us. We should be more accepting of alerts and warnings when others approach us. God might be using them to get our attention.
I’ll be the first to say that I’m not very good at this. I have a very selfish nature, but I’ve been working on it and God has been working on me to take notice when those around me approach me about a concern. I’ve come to learn that God speaks to us all in different ways, and I am not supposed to lean on my own understanding.
Again, this was a nice reminder that I need those guys who can come beside me and hold me accountable when the junk is flying.
