Lee Corso recommends this book. It is right there on the cover. How could you ignore that!?
(Where is that snarky, sarcasm font when you need it)
It’s a 40-day spiritual game plan that breaks down readings into short, highly engaging segments with a sports theme. The six sections are:
- How Do you Know When You’re “Living In The Zone?”
- Finding the The Zone in Your Relationship With Your Wife.
- Finding the The Zone in Your Relationship With Your Children
- Finding the The Zone in Your Relationship With Your Friends
- Finding the The Zone in Your Relationships at Work
- Finding Your Zone As You Look to the Future
Lee Corso aside, it actually is a nice devotional for men. The sports theme is obviously something that will resonate with most men. Each day’s read was quick to read perhaps 10 minutes at the most for me. I am in my Bible everyday, but these simple daily devotions are a perfect way to start the day or end the day. While I read it personally over the past 40 days, I could see a real benefit with doing this with a group of guys. There are great discussion questions at the end of each day’s read that would drive further discussion and personal growth.
After reading my fair share of “heavy” books recently, this was a nice light devotional that I would recommend to others. I may actually try out the group idea with a few friends. Again, this would be an easy way to start or kickoff a group men’s study.
