Thoughts on Job 14-16

This is going to be short.

In early Job 14, we begin to see a slight shift in Job’s pleas to God. They begin to get more and more accusing toward God. He still talks of God’s Sovereignty, but piece by piece, through the rest of the book,  the patience is dissolving. The back and forth between Job and his friends is pretty epic.

The theme that is going through my head in reading this section is that there is no way to plea our case with God.

In fact in 16:20-21  Job actually goes as far as saying that we need God to plea with God. That’s wise. Jesus is our mediator. One day, when we have to own up for our inequity, either he will show his father his nail pierced hands, or he will tell his father that he doesn’t know us.
