My Response to the Republican Response to the State of the Union

First of all, I must say that I am closer to traditional republican values than I am democrat values. Which is interesting, because if you really know the history of politics… democrats today used to hold to many of the same values of republicans today. It is a constant moving target. In general I feel like politicians do not represent us at all.

Anyway… the State of the Union was last night. I thought that President Obama did a good job. I thought the fact that there were many republicans and democrats who sat together helped stamp down the number of standing ovations that drag the whole thing out and cause the air to be sucked out of the room.

As normal, there is always a “response” to the President’s speeches. This one was from Wisconsin Congressman, Paul Ryan.

Might have just been the TV that I was watching… but the guy reminded me of an orange muppet.

By the way… I really thought he looked like Will Shuester from Glee too.

Apparently Ryan is ascending the ranks of the republican party. I honestly don’t know enough about his record and history to crown him the prince of the party. Gotta be better than Sarah Palin. Speaking of muppet.

What did you think of the night?

  1. I’m not going to respond to the “political” side of things but did you get a chance to see the live video streaming page on whitehouse.gov? It was very very well done.
There were tons of ways to interact with everyone from top congressmen and congresswomen to Robert Gibbs.
