Thoughts on Exodus 36-40
Chapters 36-40 of Exodus go through the technical specification for all that God has commanded his people to create. This was already discussed in 24-30, but finally the people start the work.
At the end of Chapter 40, we have this wonderful text:
Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.
It is tangible evidence of God with His people.
A lot of people ask how I know that God is real. Well, the evidence is that I can see God with me day and night. I know what life was like when He wasn’t present. His glory is present even when I am broken down. I am thankful that Jesus is with me and I have direct access to God anytime I need it.
